Alexandra Burnside
Elementary Art Teacher, Carthage R-9 School District, Carthage, MO

Alexandra Burnside has been with the Carthage R-9 School District in Carthage, MO, since 2013. At Fairview Elementary in Carthage, she teaches Kindergarten—3rd Grade students. Also, she works closely with Art Feeds to provide therapeutic art to students in the district and Art Central in Carthage as an art educator during summer Art Camp. Alexandra has been a member of the Missouri Art Education Association for 8 years and serves as the District 9 representative for the state. She has a passion for fostering creative development in children, arts advocacy, and making a positive impact in her professional and personal life. As an artist, she recently finished her first public mural at Chaos Brewing Company in Joplin, MO, and accepts mural and commission requests in a variety of mediums.

Zerric Clinton
Art Educator, Dutchtown High School, McDonough, GA

Zerric Clinton teaches art at Dutchtown High School in Hampton, GA. He received his BFA in Art Education and MA in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University and a PhD in Art Education from Florida State University. He serves as the current Past President of the Georgia Art Education Association and has presented at state and national conventions for more than 25 years. Karen VanAusdal
Senior Director of Practice, CASEL, Chicago, IL

Karen VanAusdal joined CASEL in 2016 as the Senior Director of Practice, supporting districts across the country to integrate social and emotional learning into their systemic practices and the creation of equitable learning environments. Earlier, she served as the founding Executive Director for the Office of Social and Emotional Learning for Chicago Public Schools. Karen started her career as an elementary school teacher in the Washington, DC, area, and then joined Peace First, where she designed and managed a whole-school SEL model in the Boston Public Schools. She has a BA from Brown University, an MEd in Human Development from Harvard University, and an MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics. At home in Chicago with her husband, she also works on nourishing the SEL skills of her two school-age children.

Lindsey D. Vance, ATR-BC, LPC
Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Fine Artist, Educator, and Consultant

Lindsey Vance is a board-certified art therapist, licensed professional counselor, art administrator, fine artist, educator, supervisor, and consultant. She holds a BA in Psychology and Studio Art from the University of Maryland and a MA in Art Therapy, with an emphasis in Trauma and Counseling from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Lindsey’s professional expertise is trauma-informed care, specifically with community-based populations in education and those experiencing housing insecurities. Lindsey has over 15 years of experience and education in integrating art, wellness and education. She works as the Founder of arTestimony, Manager of Arts for DC Public Schools; Grief Psychotherapist and Art Therapist for The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing; and as an Adjunct Professor for The George Washington University and Bowie State University, MD.
